I think that it would be better for the server if we added an NPC that sells all types of ores because when you are starting to play a server and its already been out for awhile its hard to find a new cave/new ores

Having an NPC that sells ores would quickly dictate a lot of prices on the server, and make ultra rare pokemon like meltan a lot more common. That being said, on reborn, iron ore sells to players for around $500 per ore/ingot, which, to a new player, is entirely out of reach, and infact, a great way to make some quick money starting out. Gold is a similar story, in that it can be used to spawn meltan, so the rarity of it would drop significantly, and diamonds, well, they arent worth very much in all honesty. everyone ends up having more than they need and a lot of people have at least a stack of spare.

All considered, having an ore NPC would quickly and simultaneously remove another way for new players to earn money, and make meltan much more common.

maybe then instead of the trader selling ores it can sell like iron ingots and gold ingots or diamonds which typically are worth less than the ores. plus this wouldnt hurt the price of a pokemon like meltan while allowing a new player to get the items that they needed

with iron at least, the cost of it would immediately dictate how fast people make money, as one iron makes $1k worth of ultra balls. if this was added, there would need to be a lot of work put into the knock on effects
